With the end of the first month of 2017 drawing to a close, all the Christmas decorations packed up and put away it is time for us to reflect on what a busy and successful 2016 Christmas Parade season the Hamilton Santa Claus Parade Committee had.

We would like to thank all our volunteers, sponsors and parade participants for a great Hamilton Santa Claus Parade on Saturday November 19th. The new start time at 4:30pm was a great success and we are so happy to have brought  a night parade atmosphere to Hamilton. Having participated in many other communities night time parades in years past we were looking forward to presenting it to the residents of the City of Hamilton and the response was awesome. The residents enjoyed the parade, the children were excited and full of smiles as they patiently awaited the arrival of the man of the hour “Santa” under the lights. The floats were all lit up, participants were full of Christmas spirit and the bands performed to perfection. Santa told us before he left for the North Pole that he rather liked the night parade here in our fine city and commented how much he liked his “updated” float. He also said that he is looking forward to returning to see us all again in November and hopes that we do another night time parade. Santa, we are making arrangements to do just that this year!!

We also need to further thank our volunteers on our committee for all the hard work and time that they commit to ensure that our floats are maintained for not only our parade, but all the other parades that our floats are rented out to as well as the numerous community events here in Hamilton that we participate in. Our volunteers also give up their time during the very busy Christmas season to travel to these communities assisting in pulling the floats and walking with them keeping all the children safe from harm. To our team of volunteers “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all that you do” “You are all special elves that need to be recognized for all your hard work and without you we would not be able to do what we do!”

Now with a bit of a break behind us we begin to work on getting things organized for this year’s parade.

Save the Date!

The Hamilton Santa Claus Parade Committee is proud to announce that this year’s Hamilton Santa Claus Parade will take place on Saturday November 19, 2016 at 4:30pm.

Along with the later start time the parade has also undergone a change in the route. Still in the downtown core the parade will be taking place along John and James Street.

We believe that this new route will make for a beautiful parade this year.

Hope to see you there.

On Saturday October 24, 2015 in St George, a small town in Ontario was all lit up with Christmas lights and decorations. This was in support of 7 year old Evan. Evan is terminally ill with cancer and his doctors do not expect him to live to Christmas. What started out to be a immediate family Christmas celebration turned out to be a night in which everyone in the town along with thousands of others coming from other areas to watch a parade pass by Evan’s home. There was bands, horses and floats all there to put a smile on his face. Of course at the end of the parade Santa appeared in his sleigh. Santa’s float stopped right in front of Evan and his family watching the parade and Santa had Evan brought up to the sleigh and ride the rest of the parade with him. Giving Evan the experience of a lifetime. His own personal time with Santa what an experience that would be. Seeing the smile on his face was so heartwarming. Evan’s brothers and mother were not forgotten and were given the honor of sitting on the float alongside Mrs Claus. It was a magical night and it was truly the meaning of Christmas. To see all the people who came out to see Evan and give him support speaks volumes. There are truly some wonderful people in this world . Thank you St George for coming out to support Evan. It meant the world to him and his beautiful family.
